Clergy
The Reverend Stephen P. Bauman, Senior Minister
Stephen has guided the revitalization and growth of Christ Church since 1987. As Senior Minister and head-of-staff he is the principle preacher and worship leader and focuses energy on strategic visioning, growth and leadership development. A graduate of Occidental College and Yale University, Stephen is also completing a PhD in Leadership and Change at Antioch University. Contact Stephen
The Reverend Javier A. Viera, Executive Minister
Javier first joined the Christ Church staff in 1996 and along with pastoral and worship responsibilities he oversees the effective execution of our programmatic life, including stewardship initiatives and our Outreach Ministries in the city, nation and world. A graduate of Florida Southern, Duke, and Yale Universities, Javier is presently a doctoral candidate at Columbia University. Contact Javier
The Reverend Tiffany Thomas, Associate Minister
Tiffany joined the Christ Church Staff in the autumn of 2011. A native of Columbus, OH, Tiffany is a graduate of Spelman College and Duke University Divinity School. In addition to sharing pastoral, teaching and worship responsibilities with her colleagues, Tiffany coordinates our 20s/30s ministry, the growing youth ministry, and various outreach initiatives. Dr. Steven Pilkington, Director of Music and Organist
Steve began his service at Christ Church in 1994. He oversees all the music ministries at Christ Church, as well as serves on the faculty of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ where he serves as Associate Professor of Sacred Music. A graduate of St. Olaf College and the University of Illinois, Steve earned a Ph.D. in Liturgics from Drew University. Contact Steve
Kathryn Carroll, Director of Programs for Children and Families
Kathryn has been working with New York families for nearly two decades; teaching preschoolers, directing a sign language and musical theatre program for children, and since 2006, directing our rapidly growing programs for Families with Children at Christ Church. Lori Wiesner, Connections Coordinator
Lori joined Christ Church in 2010 after having served on the staff of several large churches in New York City. She oversees the various ways in which newcomers and existing members connect and get involved at Christ Church, and is passionate about helping people build Christian community. Ryan Jackson, Associate Organist
A native of Canada, Ryan came to Christ Church in 2008. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Yale, and Juilliard, he serves as Associate Organist, Music Administrator, and director of the Parish Choir. He is an accomplished concert organist and winner of numerous competitions and awards. Contact Ryan
Heather Fetrow, Director of Children's Choirs
Heather conducts the children's choirs at Christ Church and is a soloist and member of the Christ Church choir. A graduate of Westminster Choir College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting, Heather also sings professionally and teaches voice to private students. Cory Davis, Director of Handbell Choirs
Cory has served Christ Church on both the administrative and music staff. Presently he conducts the adult and youth bell choirs, as well as serves as a soloist and member of the Christ Church choir. A graduate of Westminster Choir College, Cory has a long history of performance and leadership in church music with children, youth and adults. Contact Cory
Administration
Roseann DeGennaro, Administrator
A native of the Upper East Side, Roseann has served as parish Administrator since 1993. She oversees the daily operations of the building, coordinates capital projects, manages building staff, and administers the finances of the church and day school. A graduate of CUNY, Roseann has spent her entire professional career in church administration. Contact Roseann
Jonathan Acheson, Assistant to the Clergy
Jonathan joined the Christ Church staff in 2004, after having served as the director of a transitional homeless shelter in Manhattan for 3 years. His work at Christ Church includes administrative support for the ministry of the clergy, as well as responsibility for all liturgical and music publications, and membership data. Jon is an artist by training, having received an MFA degree in fine art from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a B.A. at Monmouth College. Contact Jonathan
Shayne Dutkiewicz, Communication Coordinator
Shayne joined the staff of Christ Church in 2010 and presently manages all of our website content, and social and print media. Originally from Michigan, she came to New York to attend NYU, and while here has also pursued her first loves, theater and teaching ballet, while simultaneously working in communications administration, website development and video production.
